Fall always feels like it goes by too fast and since it’s my favorite season of all, I am hoping I can be as present as possible and slow it down a bit. Back to school is great for getting back in the grind but having 4 kids in school and activities on top of work, can be BUSY as hell (as many of you know). I figured a series called “5 Things That Have Made Life Easier Lately” may come in handy for you so here is the first installment! These things may be actual physical products that make my life easier or simply things that I do. Feel free to leave any of yours in the comment section below too!
1.) Learning Ally has been a LIFESAVER for our child that has dyslexia. I was just talking with my husband the other day about how much better she has gotten with reading and how she is hearing so many more words per day with this audiobook program. She is currently listening to Lemony Snicket and absolutely loves it. Every time a more complicated word is mentioned, it automatically provides the definition as well. I am currently reading a book on the power of reading aloud and they mention audiobooks frequently and for kids that struggle to read - they’re perfect. It encourages her to read more and exposes her to many words on a weekly basis. We do not pay for Learning Ally. We were given a sign in from our school because it’s included in our child’s accommodations - be sure to ask about it for your child!
Learning Ally also comes in handy when I am reading with our youngest and getting her to bed - the older kids can listen to their favorite book with Learning Ally. It’s like having another parent available for story time :)
