I plan on breaking my Paris content into a few different newsletters to refrain from bombarding you with information. Today’s newsletter will include our itinerary and a photo diary. It includes everything we ended up doing and whether we think it’s all worth it (or not). In future newsletters I will break down more about Paris style trends and a list of complete recommendations (ones that we were told about but didn’t get to) and a list of things I want to do if I ever get a chance to go back.

WHERE WE STAYED:

Le Marais - 4th arrondissement at this airbnb

This airbnb was a bit tight but honestly, it was perfect for us. There was a bed on the first floor and the second floor. The owner of the airbnb was LOVELY and very responsive. The only thing I will note is that there is only one bathroom and that is on the first floor. Those sleeping on that lower floor will need to climb the stairs at night to use the bathroom. I do not recommend this airbnb with younger kids.

This area (the 4th arrondissement) was the perfect location in my opinion. For those of you that don’t know, Paris is made up of twenty arrondissements that are arranged in a clockwise spiral. You can see a map of them below:

I would highly recommend getting to know what is in each arrondissement so you can get a good idea of how to get around. We walked basically everywhere except when we went over to the Eiffel Tower. You could absolutely walk there but we dressed up somewhat for dinner so we did get an uber.

WHEN WE WENT:

We visited in late March, and honestly, I think it was an ideal time to go. The crowds were minimal at nearly every stop on our itinerary, which made it feel like we had more space to soak everything in without the usual hustle and bustle. The weather was also pretty dreamy — mild and comfortable, hovering in the 50s and 60s during the day, with just a few light rain showers here and there that actually added to the charm. One thing to keep in mind, though: the Tuileries Garden hadn't quite awakened from winter yet. The flowers weren't in bloom, so if your heart is set on seeing them at their peak, you'd probably want to aim for late April or May instead.
