Hi everyone,
Happy Friday!
I am working today but then I have the weekend off! I am excited to celebrate with a few birthday parties, lacrosse tournament and just relaxing. Summer has literally disappeared this year and I cannot believe it’s almost time to start the school year again. I thrive on routine and I’m excited to get back into it.
We tried out a new place called Kid Strong that just opened near by. I really love the concept but it’s pricey and just too far from us. They concentrate on mental AND physical strength. The class we tried out this week was focused on public speaking, getting to know others and doing some physical feats. It’s pretty cool if you have one nearby that you may want to try out. I think it’s great for kids that need that extra confidence boost.
I cannot thank you ENOUGH for sending me all your Iceland tips/tricks! I have so much insider info and cannot wait to add some of these things to our itinerary. I will share everything after our trip so that others may use it as well! See previous travel content here (adding past trips here soon)
My husband and I are playing in a beach volleyball league with some friends this summer and it reminds me of how important it is to continue to do things that are fun and active even as we get older. I feel like I am back in my teen years competing out there and it’s a blast!
Most of my bruising from my vein surgery has gone away. I have some left behind but unfortunately that will be permanent (this can happen - hemosiderin staining). Overall, I could not be happier with the results, both physically and visually. My pain is nearly gone and my leg looks insanely better as you can see below.
I do still need to go back for one more procedure in the fall (procedure 3 of 3) for the front of my lower leg. He wasn’t able to get those ones due to spasm during that second procedure. As you can see in the most recent image on the left, the veins in that left foot are still bulging and that’s all coming from a vein in the front of my left lower leg.
I wrote more about the my first procedure here if you are interested in knowing more. I plan to write about the second procedure soon. The cause of my varicose veins was much higher, in my iliac veins. If your varicose veins extend into your pelvic region, PLEASE talk to your provider about finding the source above before doing any stripping or injecting of the veins lower down. If you don’t fix the primary issue first, the varicosities will just come back over time. I HIGHLY recommend the interventional radiologist that did my procedures if you are looking for someone, message me.
Next week’s dinner lineup:
1.) BBQ Ranch chicken quinoa bowls
2.) Fajitas - Shredded Chicken, Steak and all the fixin’s
4.) 30 Minute Garlic Butter Chicken Pad Thai
5.) Leftovers
HOUSEKEEPING:
🌼 You can use code: LYNZY15 for 15% off at Freda Salvador - my favorite picks: my go-to sneaker, the basic Jada woven ballet flat, fisherman sandals in black + stucco suede (SO comfortable and badass - love these), an elevated version of Vans, + my go-to loafer!
🪸 Our slumberpod that we have traveled with for years is on sale (I never see it on sale) and if you travel with a baby/toddler, I highly recommend this! It goes over your travel crib and creates a blackout space for your child and it’s been a life changer for us!
🌸 Huge sale on Crocs right now just in case your kids love them as much as mine do! A great time to scoop them up a pair for school if they need a new size
🪴 Athleta is still having their 25% off sale - my picks here
